Famous Polish Personalities in Heidelberg
Numerous Polish intellectuals and artists have contributed to the myth of Heidelberg as a romantic city. Romanticists such as Adam Mickiewicz and Zygmunt Krasinski visited and wrote about the city. During the revolutionary movement of 1848/49, General Ludwig Mieroslawski joined the fight for democracy in Baden, saying: “for your and our freedom”. Fryderyk Chopin gave a concert in the baroque palace, today the Kurpfälzisches Museum. Discover all these new aspects of Heidelberg’s history.
